    Hi folks,
Thank you everybody for coming to our first meetup! It was good to see all of you there.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LARRY for working so hard to make our meeting successful. From your presentation we learnt a lot more about the Blackberry App development, coding tips, and RIM. We look forward to your next presentation.

A suggestion for the developer site. How about highlighting what each platform is most suited for.

    • Ping B.

PS Chang, thank you very much for the suggestion, we'll see what we can do!

I saw some people taking pictures at the event. *Please* upload them if you have them. Thanks!

Remember to tweet as well! use #SVBBDev for this group's hashtag. You can also use #bbdev if your comment is more general. Alex Kinsella (our captain of social in Dev Relations) monitors this tag and will retweet you if you've got good and/or helpful things to share with the larger BlackBerry dev community. Note: @BlackBerryDev is followed by ~50,000 people. :-)

After last night, I think it's important to say: We're critical because we *like* you. We like RIM and Blackberry. We already knew most of those were misconceptions, and now we're better equipped to address them when they arise elsewhere. We want to see (and share) the same success you do!

For those of you that want more in-depth coverage on developing for BlackBerry: we'll cover that in the next meetup. Last night's meeting was just meant to be a kick-off and fairly high level so we could get your feedback on what you want in future meetings. I heard loud and clear that you want a session on setting up your development environment (sdks, signing keys, debug tokens, hello-world app, deployment to device). We can cover all this next time, no problem.

please clarify is this required in advance of the meeting?

      November 13, 2012

    • Ping B.

Yes, this is required before RIM's IT folks off work.

      November 14, 2012

  • PS C.

Was expecting more from RIM team to help with development questions. Not only converting Android App to Blackberry
