Do you want to use your talent and tech skills to create social awareness and change? Are you an expert at creating dashboards or an enthusiastic beginner in search of cooperative hackathons to get started? Join us for the Viz for Social Good Hackathon!
Project Viz For Social Good (https://www.vizforsocialgood.com/) helps mission-driven organizations understand their data through dashboards and visualizations. During the hackathon we will work on a project to visualize Counter Trafficking data (https://www.vizforsocialgood.com/join-a-project/international-organisation-for-migration) and share our insights with the group. You can choose any tool, framework, or programming language you like to create the visualizations.
Don’t have dataviz experience? Drop in anyway because we believe diverse, cross-disciplinary teams get better results—and this is a cooperative hackathon—so help will be available from dataviz and analytics experts and your fellow participants.
All entries will be submitted to the Viz for Social group on Twitter. Notable past projects have been presented at esteemed conferences like the United Nations General Assembly.
Of course, following the age-old tradition of hackathons, there will be pizza! And don’t forget to bring your laptop.
