I'm really impressed with the ways technology has empowered patients to make decisions about their health. At the same time, I am concerned about patients making decisions without the medical know-how they need.
I think tracking the data of people over a long period of time will enable people to discover trends amongst populations (especially in longitudinal studies), and ultimately allow us to deliver a more individualized version of medicine.
By editing this sentence (1/13/13)! So far, I'm big on ideas, but scant on skills to make them happen. Hearing discussion between healthcare experts and developers will give me a sense of what I need to learn to be useful.
