Jonathan Kaplan

Dr. Jonathan Kaplan, a board certified plastic surgeon originally fromAlexandria, LA, is proud to call San Francisco home. After completing his plastic surgery fellowship at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic where he was trained by the same team that performed the first US face transplant, he practiced in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for six years. While in Baton Rouge during his first 6 years in practice, Dr. Kaplan built a busy cosmetic practice. His area of focus ranged from facial to body cosmetic surgery, as well as cosmetic medicine, including injectibles such as BOTOX for wrinkles and fillers for smile lines.
Also during this first 6 years of practice, Dr. Kaplan noticed that patients were coming to consultations without an appreciation for the different costs associated with plastic surgery. He found that most patients couldn’t find an estimate for plastic surgery on the internet and when they would call the doctor’s office, they would hear the same explanation, “the doctor can’t give estimates over the phone since surgical needs are different for everyone.” While it is true that everyone is unique and have unique needs, there’s nothing wrong with giving an estimate online so the patient can know if surgery is out of their budget. From that realization, was born.

Product Desc:BuildMyBod® is a website and iPhone/iPad app that Dr. Kaplan developed, allowing patients in their area, to find plastic surgeons and get free itemized estimates on the procedures they're interested in by submitting virtual "wishlists." The pricing information listed on the website is provided by plastic surgeons themselves, leading to complete and accurate total cost estimates. For a patient to submit a wishlist, they must sign up for a free account on BuildMyBod, providing their name, phone number, ZIP code and email address. Once their wishlist is submitted, they are instantly provided the total cost estimate of the procedure they're interested in but also, an email is sent to the consumer and doctor, providing both with their contact info. The doctor now has a qualified lead on a prospective patient and the prospective patient is now more-informed, thus avoiding the “sticker shock” so frequently experienced during the initial consultation.

Moataz Soliman

I've been working at Microsoft in Redmond as a Software Testing Engineer, due to my huge passion to testing which drived me later start Instabug, a bug reporting tool for mobile apps.
I'm a computer engineering graduate, 23 years old, from Cairo, Egypt.
I'm in SF to attend a program ( hosted by Google. We've been selected along with 7 other startups from all over the world.

Product Desc: Instabug
Instabug is a tool that runs in the background of an app, allowing users to send their feedback or bugs instantly, by just shaking their devices, they don't need to interrupt their experience while using the app anymore. And while running in the background, we gather all details needed by the developer to trace those bugs later. Developers can view this feedback on our organized dashboard, as well as other statistics.
