7th Annual Flying Spaghetti Monster Party & Potluck

  • Apr 20, 2014 · 1:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Aarrr! Join us in celebrating His noodliness at Sacramento's 7th Annual FSM Party.

This year will be a potluck, please bring some food to share (in addition to the $3 for the lodge rental.) You might also want to bring some grog.

We encourage everyone to dress in full pirate regalia, of course, since it's the only appropriate attire to celebrate the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

The president of the FFRRRRRRRRF, Dan Barkarrrrrr, will be in attendance.

This is a family friendly event by the Sacramento Area Coalition of Reason event.

We'll have:

• pirate singing

• pirate costume contests (separate for men, woman, and children)

• board games (like Pirate Fluxx, etc.)

Willing to help out? Contact Rachael.

Learn more about the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster at venganza.org/about.

It is in the Lodge a Camp Pollock. Click here for directions and look for the pirate banners/flags: http://sacramentovalleyconservancy.org/camp-pollock.asp

My first time, and I thought it was great! Easy to mix and mingle, nice variety of tasty food (great sp. sauces!) I loved the outdoorsy, rustic atmosphere, which I thought added to everyone's comfort and tranquility. I felt very safe and serene there. Nice large porch with chairs in the shade for those wanting a place to have smaller conversations in the spring air. Nice choice of venue for large size potluck. Well done. Thanks, Rachael and whoever else put this on!

I enjoyed myself and this was my first time attending this. I look forward to more of these. Thank you everyone who worked to put this on.

I enjoyed it, but participation seemed lower than previous years, and it just didn't seem to come together as well. Maybe it was the heat.

I just heard back from the lodge people-- it does have a microwave oven. We're "saved"! :)

For those that are not yet familiar with a Flying Spaghetti Monster party, the food theme is of course spaghetti and meatballs! The Camp Pollock Lodge does not have a full kitchen, so be sure to bring your food already prepared and ready to serve. I am looking into if they have a microwave oven. They do at least have electrical outlets if you want to plug in a crock pot to keep food warm.

I will be bringing some vegan meatless balls and probably some gluten-free spaghetti. I heard a rumor that the FSM will be making an appearance!

If there are going to be some kids there, the location is great for a dinosaur egg / pirate treasure hunt!
If someone else would like to set it up. Camp Pollock has a large grassy area and a more natural area under the trees for hiding stuff. Wendy and I saw some cool dinosaur eggs at Raleys in their seasonal display. Kind of like these on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Dino-Egg-Hunt-Plastic-Decorated/dp/B00BKRNVTY/ref=sr_1_23?ie=UTF8&qid=1396914055&sr=8-23&keywords=dinosaur+egg+candy

Dan Barker has just told me he'd love to attend FSM Party! He says he can be the ship's chaplain. (He'll be in need of some pirate attire, if anyone could help provide any. He's not traveling with his pirate hats and swords this trip.)

Do we dress up like pirates?

Oh my I just read the description. Please don't answer, I'm so embarrassed.

I haven't embraced the pirate's life for many a year. However, I still know where to garner a slog of mead and some fitting hard tack. This shall be fun.

I'd be willing to host in principle, but could only accommodate about 15, tops. :(

I should also note: my ability to host a smaller group at my apartment is dependent on the "1-4 week delivery time" for a couch set being more like 1-2 weeks. :(

Thanks for the offer Alex, but we went with a bigger venue, the Lodge at Camp Pollock.
