  • Advocates of separation of religion and government are often challenged by followers of the Religious Right to explain which aspects of U.S. law and culture they would change.

In this talk, Rob Boston, Director of Communications for Americans United for Separation of Church and State, will discuss the ideal secular society that many supporters of church-state separation are working toward.

The speech will cover topics such as government endorsement of religion, the role of religion in public education, LGBT rights, taxpayer support for religious projects and how to define religious freedom in a multi-faith, multi-philosophy society.

The talk will include a discussion of the challenges we face under the incoming Trump administration.

This event follows Sunday Assembly's service, starting at 10:30 also at Reason Center.

Our December service features Jess, from Sacramento Area Skeptics. She will talk about how she finds purpose and meaning in life, working with hospice patients and other experiences.

Everyone is welcome to join us! There will be secular holiday songs. :)
