Atheists with kids: April 18 Academy of Science visit!

From: Roberto L.

I finally heard back from the Academy on Group sales (ok, what I actually meant to say is that I finally got around to calling them during business hours).

Some decisions need to be made, I need some input!

Here's what I know:

Group tickets are 15% less than regular admission tickets. If you want to participate in the group purchase, please email me, we need at least 15 people to get the discount. I'm a member, so that's 3 people less towards the 15. I'll make the decision to purchase group tickets on March 30, if I don't have enough people for the discount we're still going, but everyone will have to purchase general admission tickets.

There's also a variety of guided tour options, from a 1 hour Custom tour ($50/person) to a platinum, 2 hour privately escorted behind the scenes tour ($99/person). The tours have a minimum age requirement (8 years old, though younger kids can tag along). I assume the tours include museum entrance fees. I think we'll probably NOT want to get a tour, given the price, unless I hear overwhelming desire for a tour, I'll make the executive decision to not get it.

If we leave Sacramento around 9, we'll be at the museum by 12, our stomachs will start to growl right around then. I suggest we either bring our own lunches, eat at the cafeteria or we can alternatively pre-order box lunches. The box lunches are $14.25/person, if 10 people or more respond saying they want the box lunches I'll order them (I got the menu and will send it then)

Would you be interested in having dinner as a group after the visit? If so, any ideas for where you'd like to go (somewhere close to the museum preferably) that would be able to handle the group?

If you haven't made your meetup reservation, please do so, so I know how many people are coming!

See you all soon!
