Movie Night at Reason Center
Twice a month, Reason Center (RC) and Atheists and Other Freethinkers (AOF) show you the love by treating you to a Free Movie Night under an excellent Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) license (basically, a show-movies-for-free license). The license prohibits us from naming the movie here, but we can hint. The July 20, 2018, movie is the acclaimed 2013 sci-fi drama about American astronauts stranded in space after the mid-orbit destruction of their space shuttle, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. If you can't guess it, it is a matter of no gravity -- simply contact Reason Center (see below). They'll tell you, then you can tell anyone. Reason Center has a big screen and sound system. We have chairs, but they're not great for 2 hours of movie watching so we recommend you bring a comfy lawn chair, blankets, and pillows. You can also bring your own dinner and drinks to enjoy in addition to our complimentary theater popcorn. Our movie nights are free for Reason Center members, which starts at only $5/month and supports other activities for our local freethought community. If you would like to become a member, sign up here: Movie Night is an informal, picnic-style family event. The venue has a huge silver screen and a dynamic sound system. Chairs are available but may be a bit harsh for a two-hour sit, so it's OK to bring blankets, pillows, lawn chairs and your own snacks & beverage, non-alcoholic, please. RC may provide fluffy, buttery theater popcorn. Children are welcome if they're cool children -- and if you judge the movie appropriate for tender eyes & ears. Also, the taller your personal chair, the further back you will sit, so keep that in mind. The showings are especially for Reason Center members, but non-members are welcome too. RC may beg a small, voluntary donation to cover costs. How can you become a Reason Center member? Sign up at Membership is a measly $5 a month, is tax deductible if you itemize, and the perks (like this one) are stellar.
