Direct Action Everywhere West Coast Tour - Sacramento,CA

Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) is an animal liberation network working to end speciesism. Beginning in 2013 in the Bay Area, California with only a few activists and ambitious ideas, the network has grown exponentially through a tireless focus on local and international community building, open and consensus-based organizing, and the high-impact campaign, “It’s Not Food, It’s Violence,” which has now reached 41 cities across 13 countries and has received national news coverage. DxE highlights voices and communities that have been traditionally marginalized in the animal rights movement. This intersectional and international approach has mobilized activists in cities as far-flung and disparate as Chennai, India; Antalya, Turkey; Phoenix, Arizona; and Vancouver, Canada.

Organizers from the East Bay Area, CA chapter of Direct Action Everywhere will speak about the origins of the network, its organizing principles and its current campaigns. This will also be a place for discussion, where we will trade ideas and hear about the struggles and campaigns that your community is involved with. The second day of the tour will be a day of action, where we will collectively plan and implement actions at different locations across the city. The purpose of the tour is to strengthen the network and relationships with activist communities through face-to-face interaction.

Until every animal is free.

Adrienne, I think it could be good to start a DxE meetup apart from the animal rights group.

LOL!!! Looks like the autocorrect troll got Adrienne. Went from "...one night and..." to "...one night stand..." But it's actually a two-night stand!!!!! Or sit, as some would rather not stand all evening.

LOL!!! Catherine I never noticed that. I was wondering where this one night stand business was coming from. Too funny!!!

Hey everyone. So, just to let everyone know that there is secured covered parking below ground at the hotel. So you may park there if there is space if not there is two dollar parking across the street at the hospital.

WOOHOO! This is three minutes from my house!! Should we bring our own plate and silverware and glass as well as something to share, Adrienne?

    1 · June 14, 2014

    • adrienne r.

you can if you like I was going to buy paper plates and such but it would be less wasteful if people brought their own

Hey everyone!! So I checked out our venue the Med Park Hotel today and it is SUPER nice. I'm really looking forward to this! Please take note of the location change and it's address.

ALSO, we will be right down the street from Anna's Vegan Cafe, which has great Vietnamese and Chinese food. Here is a link to their site http://www.annavegancafe.com/
We can take out or get it delivered, whatever works for everyone. But if everyone brings a little something I'm sure there will be plenty for everyone!

Direct Action Everywhere shirts will be available for $20 (cash only), to help fund this tour.

Can't wait to see everyone and to share this amazing experience with everyone!!

THANK YOU Adrienne Ramirez for gettting us involved with Direct Action Everywhere, one of the leading groups to change the world to stop the animal holocaust. So glad they realize that Chipolte is fooling even our animal rights people into believing they are kind, small and good to vegans!! NO THEY ARE NOT. They are one of the largest animal killing machines in place today...close to surpassing mcdonalds with their phony KIND adverstising. Do NOT buy the hype freinds! It is JUST great marketing on their part!

Hey all, Great news! We have a great new location where we will have this event.. All of the details will be posted tomorrow. Please RSVP and invite anyone and everyone to this awesome event. You don't have to be vegan, animal liberationist or activist to join. All are welcome!
