    Marilyn,
Sorry we didn't hook up today. Six of us were there at the parking lot entrance to the Nature Center at 7:40 and left at 8:00 sharp for our hike. I don't know how you could not see us... maybe you were at a different location. Please try us again... dp

Because I'm not familiar with the park. I was at the large lot at the Tarshes Dr entrance, per your instructions (I thought). I didn't realize the nature center had a different parking lot. I found it about 1 minute late and had no idea which direction you took. I will try again and be better informed the next time.

Arrived at parking lot near kiosk about 8:40. No one in sight. No signage. Went online for park map. Asked random people. Found my way to what was probably the start by 8:01. Not a soul around. A very disappointing start. Hope to meet up with you another time. Maybe I can meet one of the members at a specific spot ahead of time.

    Gang,
I need to remind you that parking at the Nature Center without a permit is strictly enforced and could be a $50 fine. You need to buy a pass on the Tarshes Dr entrance at the guard shack, $5 bills only or park free on Palm and San Lorenzo and walk to the Center. This all takes time and you may miss us since we leave at 8 AM SHARP and wait for no one. We hate to miss anyone so please arrive early and enjoy our Hike. Also, remember that this event is a GO regardless of any silly little thing like some sort of weather problem.

This event is listed as "Beginner-Intermediate" but as a novice you would need to have some fitness training. We move at a brisk pace and pause about every mile. If the pace is too fast, you have the option of turning at the 2, 3 or 4 Mile Marks. We do have a nice pause at the 3 Mile restroom break. dp
