Red Tent Temple is a gathering and healing space for women. In the days before electricity, women tended to synchronize cycles and to welcome the New Moon in the Red Tent, a space for women to rest and regenerate as their bodies released.
Today we honor the New Moon and our woman-ness by gathering in safe space where we can share our stories, ask for the support we need, and have a few hours for self-care and ease in our busy lives.
We open by lighting a candle and a moment of silence in which we can all pray, meditate, or be present in our own way.
We share food and drink. Sometimes you may feel called to bring something substantial, at other times you may need to nestle into the benevolence of your Red Tent Sisters for the month and show up with nothing in hand except your desire to sink into the energy of sacred space.
There is a massage table for those desiring to share body work.
There is a space for talking circle for those needing to speak.
There is a teaching offered each month. If you are interested in coming to Red Tent to offer a short (30 minutes or so) talk on something you are passionate about, please contact me!
Soft music, shared nourishment, stories, healing, safe and sacred space. Please RSVP to join us.
Our location is in Chesapeake, VA, just 10 minutes from Military Circle Mall, Greenbrier Mall, and downtown Norfolk.
Red Tent Temple is free of charge. Donations are accepted with gratitude to cover expenses.
Red Tent Temple is open to all women who have reached menarche and all female-identified people who have reached puberty.
