In the Kiva at
I invite you to join me in the glorious space of a sweat lodge on the Sunday following Thanksgiving, Nov. 25. at 570 Pine in Gold Hill. Our last holiday lodge was last Easter and we had such a magnificent group of people participating with us. Thanks to the generosity of Jeff Combelic who offers his beautiful space and guidance we will ,once again, sing, pray, and open our hearts together as we thank Mother Earth and all that is for our incredible abundance. Children are welcome.
Please arrive by 9:00AM to assist with the preparations.
INSTRUCTIONS FROM JEFF:
REMEMBER: Parking is limited at the house so please
park on Main Street unless... and walk up-Thanks.
Please bring a dish for the potluck afterward (meat OK). A $10 minimum
contribution (suggested is $20) is expected. Funds are going to a local
Native American family in financial duress.
Attire should be modest and non revealing: men: baggy swimsuit or
shorts, women: a long cotton dress or T-shirt and shorts. Bring a towel.
The ceremony and protocols are explained before the lodge. About the
heat: you may leave the lodge if it is too hot for you. Understand that
sitting by the fire you are also in the ceremony and is a powerful time
to pray and meditate, so if you need to leave the lodge the ceremony
just continues for you around the fire. I also allow people to come back
in if they need to sit out a round.
I look forward to being in ceremony with those of you that feel called,
