What we're about

This group is for anyone who would like to explore their roots with others. We'll discuss free searches, and also travel to your land of origin. Yes, we'll go with you! First, though, let's share what we know about our ancestry--culture, history, family tree, and other pertinent facts. Then, we can start planning a trip!

If you're interested in visiting the country of your origin and exploring your roots with others, this group is for you. You may have already completed research on your family and country(ies) of origin or you may be just starting. It doesn't matter. You're someone who would like to hear about others' backgrounds and share yours. You're someone who would like to help others investigate their roots. By visiting the country(ies) of your past, we learn more about each other and the world becomes our neighborhood.

Tell Your Story

Online event

Hi,
With COVID19, I haven't done much with this group. I thought I'd try this a different way. Let me know what you think please.

I'm reading a book called Life is in the Transitions by Bruce Feiler. Just started it. He's talking about the importance of telling our personal story and our family story. I think this is a great idea b/c right now we sure can't travel to the countries of our families. We CAN write about it and share it. Even if you don't know the story of your family, you know your own story.

So, I thought if we told each other our stories we might jog our brains and start to journal about our personal and family stories. An hour once each month of story telling! If you want to journal before or after the meeting, that's great, but not a requirement.

This is about sharing stories and building friendships. When the world is safer, we can travel if you'd like--or meet face-to-face!!!

If you're interested, I'll just need your email to send the ZOOM passcode. Thanks,
Anita
