Because many of you have asked about it or suggested it, I thought we would try it out and plan for it this year. I hope I have all the info correct but I'm sure you will let me know if I don't.
There are swing dance lessons given at the Moolah Shrine Center on Tuesday nights. They start promptly at 7:00pm and they have lessons for different levels of dancers including beginners (where you will find me :)). Lessons go until 8:00pm and then they have open dancing for those wishing to stay and show off their new moves. The cost is only $5.00 per lesson and can go down to $3.00 if you like it and become a member.
Swing dancing is great exercise and can make some of our musical meetups more enjoyable. It seems like people always notice swing dancers and I think it would be fun to do as a group.
From what I understand the place is usually jamming with dancers and wannabe dancers so it is advisable to plan to get there early. Hopefully we can get enough there to commander a table or 2.
I plan on giving this a 4 week shot and maybe longer if the group wants to continue. It's on Tuesdays which are typically slow meetup nights and it is an early evening if you don't want to stay for the open dance.
You know the drill. Rsvp so I will know who is coming.
