Most of us lead busy, stressful lives, and we've accumulated years of emotional baggage, limiting beliefs about ourselves and the world, and have experienced some trauma. But, most of us were conditioned at an early age to try to "get over it", "stop moping around," "calm down," "get control of yourself," and on and on, with the result that a lot of emotional energy is trapped or stuck in our bodies, in our nervous systems, and in our cells.
And chronic stress can lead to all sorts of health issues, not to mention that it can rob you of your ability to enjoy your life.
Join us to learn about two effective ways to allow your body to discharge stress, release pent-up fight or flight energy and the emotional charge still attached to past events, and reset your nervous system. (You may be surprised to learn that you haven't been truly relaxed in years!) Our bodies have an extraordinary ability to heal on their own - both EFT Tapping and TRE help our bodies return to a balanced state.
At various workshops and events, you'll be introduced to Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT or Tapping), and TRE (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises). Both EFT and TRE have been used successfully all over the world to help everyone from school children and refugees to veterans and first responders. Both were designed to be self-help tools that people could learn and use even without professional help. And both target stress, tension, and trauma where it lives - in our bodies.
EFT Tapping involves tapping with your fingers on acupressure points while tuning in to an emotion or physical sensation. A growing body of clinical studies proves that EFT is effective and works quickly to reduce stress, emotional upset, and even pain. Plus, it's designed to be a self-help tool so once you learn it you can use it on your own. EFT is used effectively to address a range of issues including weight loss and food cravings, phobias, troubling memories, fears of the future, money/abundance issues, relationship problems, performance anxiety and much more.
TRE involves a series of 7 exercises that stretch and fatigue specific muscles with the goal of initiating tremoring in the body. All mammals instinctively shake to discharge the stress and the ramping up of our survival physiology (cortisol and adrenaline). Unfortunately, as we grow older we train ourselves out of this natural way of returning to balance, and we end up holding onto all that tension. Just a few minutes of this self-controlled shaking can result in feeling much calmer, more relaxed, and lead to better sleep, along with other beneficial outcomes. And the best part is, there's no talking or remembering involved - your body just knows what it needs to release and takes care of it for you! Like EFT Tapping, once you learn TRE you can use it on your own to continue your self-healing journey.
