Let's Learn to Dance Salsa in Chicago! A multi group event.

In this one day, 3 hour class you will learn to dance Salsa in time to the music with another person.

By the end of class you will even learn a fun turn combination.

We start from the very beginning with the basic and the progressive basic steps.

Next, we learn to hear the beats of music in the measure.

Then, we learn how to connect with, and communicate to, our partner through the movements of our body utilizing our dance frame.

We apply this to dance Salsa with "On1" timing or "LA style" Salsa.

We will teach you a right turn, a behind the back hand change and a fun turn combination with the styling of the "hairbrush".

In addition, you will learn the "connector move", the cross body lead.

Then we will create a fun dance routine for you to use to practice your new moves and to take to the clubs to dance. We will show you how to put these all together so that you can move smoothly from one combination to another to make your dancing flow and get you out on the dance floor looking good!

No partner is necessary. We rotate partners in class. This will help you develop your skills more quickly and allow everybody the opportunity to practice the steps being taught and also to meet new people with whom you might practice at another time. Nevertheless, you may stay with one partner if you choose.

SHOES: We recommend soles that allow you to slide safely across the dance floor, such as leather, smooth plastic, or suede. A closed back, or a strap across the heel, will help keep your foot in place as you turn. Rubber-soled shoes, athletic shoes and flip flops are not recommended.

CLOTHING: Although we don't have a strict dress code, the norm for our classes is nicer-casual. Layers are suggested as you will heat up as the class progresses. Clothing should breathe. Cotton or other natural fibers is preferred. Clothing that restricts your movements is not recommended.

As space in this class is limited, advance registration and payment is required

Registration will be accepted until Midnight the day before the class.

Payment may be made by clicking this link to the Enrollment Page.  A Pay Pal account is NOT required.

THIS CLASS IS FOR PEOPLE NEW TO SALSA AND FOR PEOPLE THAT KNOW SOME SALSA BUT WISH TO IMPROVE THEIR BASIC TECHNIQUE, PARTNER CONNECTION AND TIMING OR TO BEGIN LEARNING VARIOUS TURN COMBINATIONS.
