I am in the process of designing my own tiny home and want to connect with others as together we can create greater things. Let's help each other in build, locate materials, discuss and assist with designs, locate spaces for building as well as reuse and recycle materials, share tools and build each others knowledge. Let's live our excitement and see our building goals come to fruition. This has the potential to become a community project that involves building for the homeless, or low income families.
The transition to tiny involves many elements of life change, including how we spend, what we surround ourselves with and our relationship with "stuff". One of the most important aspects of tiny living, is improving our relationships and community bonds. Let's reach out to one another, and help each other reach and build our goals. About me: I took a tiny building class from Dee Willams of PAD (Portland Alternative Dwellings) https://padtinyhouses.com in November of 2015. If you're not familiar, check her out here on a ted talks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A47JaOMDH4c When we feel empty inside, too often we look outside of ourselves to fill in these gaps. Let's look within, and ask in the words of Wayne Dyer,"How may I serve".
Maybe you don't intend to build your own tiny, perhaps you only wish to learn more about this lifestyle. We all have so much to bring to the table, come and share your ideas! I hope to meet in coffee shops, on hiking or backpacking trips, dog walks, outdoor adventures, picnics, reuse centers, building supply stores, and to actually B U I L D !
UPDATE AS OF 23 JULY 2016: I have been working on someone else's build and spending a lot of time outdoors. If anyone has an idea for a meetup, or is working on a build and wouldn't mind some extra hands, speak up and lets make it happen!
