What we're about

The Saluda Chapter(#359), founded in 1982, is a Trout Unlimited chapter serving the midlands of South Carolina as well as the low country. We are avid fly fishermen and women who are dedicated to the conservation, preservation and restoration of coldwater fisheries. As a chapter, we also work to preserve and protect warmwater fisheries in our local area. We are proud to be a part of the national Trout Unlimited organization with over 150,000 members nationwide. To join Trout Unlimited go to http://www.tu.org/intro and enter the chapter number 359 for Saluda. More information can be found at our Web site: http://www.saludatu.org .

Trip Capacity: 20 Deposit: $60 Leave time will be 7:30 am March 1st from the Cloud House at 915 Koon Rd, Irmo, SC. Our travel will take us up I-77 and a few stops along the way. Typically a breakfast at the Lizard Thicket of exit 27 Blythewood is the first stop and a stop at rest area near Richland SC to remove a bit of coffee courtesy of the Lizard Thicket. The last stop will be at a Walmart on the right in Granite Falls, NC. It is encouraged to arrive at BMBR with a full stomach and be ready to fish ASAP once check in and cabin assignments take place. Once I arrive at BMBR the process of unloading all the food that I hope you will eat begins. The first meal of the day is supper which is around the 7 to 7:30 pm hour. For Saturday and Sunday morning; breakfast is served and sandwich items will be on hand for those who desire to pack a lunch for streamside dining. Saturday supper will also be provided. The cabins at BMBR are rustic and vary in style. Although the website indicates they are furnished with kitchen items, they are not fully furnished in our opinion. So bring your own coffee cup. If cold weather, a little portable heater may be a good idea. Also for bedding, if you have a sleeping bag that may be a good idea as well. There are NO Televisions at BMBR. However, Wifi is available. Our Wilson trip has been going on for years now, so we must be doing something right and folks always sign up for this one. What I ask from you is simple. Relax and have a GREAT time. Hopefully the fishing will be excellent. When checking out, we must leave the cabins as we found them. If you feel led to leave a bit of a tip for clean up, that would be good. We want BMBR to remember us a great group to have as their guest. Let’s Fish Keith Cloud[masked]
