Our May 14th meeting will focus on opportunities to serve and enjoy membership in our local Saluda River Trout Unlimited chapter. Our very own Sam Crews (chapter president) has just returned from the annual Southeastern Rally for Trout Unlimited. It is at the rally's that leadership of many other chapters network, learn and plan various conservation programs and ways to make the TU experience a rewarding for it's members. We've got a lot of great things going on and as our chapter continues to grow, we can indeed make a difference in the future of our coldwater fisheries.
Speaking of ways to ENJOY SRTU; Dermon Sox will be on hand 30 minutes before the meeting for a bit of Learner's Corner. You will never know what the Master Caster has up his sleeve; but one thing is sure, is that there is no one in our chapter with more knowledge about fly fishing than Mr. Sox.
We are also fresh off another successful banquet and before we know it, another one will soon be approaching. Now is the time to plan for next year and continued success.
Our outings program is in full swing and MANY trout have made their way to the nets. Hopefully a few more to the net for the upcoming Nantahala trip. Trout in the Classroom is winding down another great year and the Citizen science program is beginning to take root. South Carolina will soon have Trout Unlimited tags available for purchase and opportunities may soon be available in the Healing Waters program.
We are grateful to the American Legion for allowing us to meet at their fine facility. So come join us for a bit of trout talk.
As always, we will have Pizza and Drinks and Cookies available for those whom desire to keep their bellies from growling. Cost is $7.00
It always helps regarding ordering of pizzas if we get a good response from possible attendees. We want everyone who desires to take in an evening meal should they wish.
Come join us and bring a friend as well.
