Vegetarian Food / Non-Alcoholic Event
We are very excited to participate at this wonderful event hosted by WorldBeat Cultural Center on New Year's Eve from 7:00pm to long after Midnight.
Come and join Spirit Soul And Friends -A Musical Peace Troupe as we open with kirtan at 7:00pm.
Immediately following the kirtan will be a very special hour with SRIMATI KATYAYANI DEVI DASI, a spiritual master in the Brahma Gaudaiya Sampradaya line of disciplic succession, who will speak from 7:30-8:30.
SRIMATI KATYAYANI DEVI DASI
Srimati Katyayani Devi dasi is a direct disciple of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami and is a spiritual master in the Brahma Gaudaiya Sampradaya line of disciplic succession. She is an acarya (one who teaches by example) and a master of knowledge regarding all spiritual matters.
Srimati Katyayani Devi dasi teaches the Bhakti Yoga process—the spiritual process which will help an individual soul uncover their eternal, dormant love for God and realize the soul’s true position as loving servant of the Supreme Soul (God). This knowledge has been taught unchanged through this line of disciplic succession since time immemorial and is the ultimate goal of life.
Her yoga lifestyle includes a meatless diet, and she is the pioneer of the first vegetarian cooking show, “Kathy’s Kitchen” which was televised nationwide through the Public Broadcasting Syndicate (PBS) starting in 1980. Each day, viewers who tuned in to watch the show learned how to obtain a healthy and happy lifestyle with a plant based diet. Each episode always concluded with daily ‘food for thought’ that inspired many to want to change their diets and adopt a healthier, more spiritually aligned, way of life.
Just as her spiritual master, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, changed the course of many people’s lives that were in search of the Absolute Truth, Srimati Katyayani Devi dasi passes on the vast knowledge of the Bhakti Yoga process indiscriminately to anyone who wishes to hear and learn this sublime process of true self-realization; the loving relationship between the individual soul and the Supreme Soul, God.
Other guests and activities include Healing Drum Circle w/CHRISTINE STEVENS. Christine Stevens, MSW, MT-BC, MA holds masters degrees in both social work and music therapy. She is founder of UpBeat Drum Circles whose mission is to weave together ancient wisdom and practice of music making with the modern knowledge of human development.
The night will be filled with more kirtan, yoga, drum circles, cultural and ethnic dance and much more throughout the night as we greet 2014.
