What we're about

This is a group for anyone interested in Functional Programming. All levels of ability and experience are welcome. We meet monthly and together we'll figure out how to rewire our brains to think and code functionally.

Starting in 2018, we're beginning our meetings with a new segment we're calling FP Fundamentals. Every month we'll examine a small aspect of functional programming from the ground up. We'll look at how this helps us write better code and compare and contrast how our favorite languages deal with these concepts.

The night usually ends with a programming challenge. You are encouraged to solve the problem in any language, ideally in collaboration with other attendees, and using some of the techniques we've discussed that night. After a break we encourage members to share & discuss their solutions with the group so we can see how different languages solve problems.

From time to time we change things up and include a longer talk or two related to functional programming. If you want to give a longer talk or lead one of the FP Fundamentals segments, let us know!
