What we're about

This is a regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the San Francisco Accordion Club (www.sfaccordionclub.com) for accordion players, accordion fans, and music fans - scheduled the 3rd Sunday of each month in Millbrae @ The Chetcuti Community Room, 450 Poplar Avenue. Join us as a MeetUp member and guest of the club.

"Accordions Live" concert performances by professional accordionists in odd-numbered months (January, March, May, July, etc.):
People usually start to arrive around 1:45pm to get settled into a good seat, get some coffee and cookies, and conduct a little socializing. The program starts at 2:00pm with a few announcements. There will usually be 1 performance set by each of 2 performers (solo or combo), with a 20-minute refreshment and raffle break in between. After 4pm, any interested players will play as a group from a book of simple lead sheets (available upon request as a .PDF) For these events, we request a $10 donation ($5 for SFAC members who RSVP via Meetup) to help defray expenses for the Meetup, meeting space rental fee, performer stipends, and refreshments. Typically, there is attendance of 20-35 people.

"Accordion Circle" informal player "jams" in even-numbered months (February, April, June, etc.):
People usually start to arrive around 1:45pm to get settled into a good seat, players set up stands and unpack instruments, and conduct a little socializing. The program starts at 2:00pm with a few announcements. Those interested in playing 2 songs may sign-up and perform, sort of like an open-mike format. We will also play as a group from a book of simple lead sheets (available upon request as a .PDF) There will be a 20-minute raffle & refreshment break. We request a $5 donation to help defray expenses for the Meetup, meeting space rental fee, and refreshments. Typically, there is attendance of 15-20 people.
