This class taught by Chief Instructor Penny Sablove - 4th Dan

Penny Sablove, chief instructor and founder of Heart of San Francisco Aikido, began her training in 1980, captivated by the splendor of the physical movement.

"I couldn't believe my eyes - there were bodies flying through the air in fluid, clean lines, forming spiral shapes with each other. After attending that first trial Aikido class, I was so moved by the beauty of the movement and how good my body felt doing it, that I signed up right away for classes."

Penny has been training ever since, including several trips to Japan. She opened Heart of SF Aikido dojo in 1995. Her teaching emphasizes the ways that the principles of Aikido - such as harmony and nonresistance - are reflected in the movements of the art. Penny has also taught many seminars in Germany, Finland and the U.S.

A physical therapist by profession, Penny brings her knowledge of biomechanics to adapt the practice to a wide variety of individual needs.
