Where & When--

We'll meet in front of Borderlands Cafe at 11:45 am and start walking at 12:00 sharp, so leave time for transit delays, coffee/bathroom lines, etc.

We will end our walk at 24th Street and Florida. This is just a few blocks from the 24th Street BART stop, but you may want to plan time to stop in some of the shops before you head home.

About the Walk--

This walk is easy and flat. If you can do a steady/moderate pace for 2.5 hours then you will enjoy yourself. Our route will follow pretty tree lined streets with stately Victorian homes and backway alleys with colorful murals that tell the story of this neighborhood's Latino heritage. There is more to The Mission than trendy Valencia Street and I'll point out some interesting shops, cafes, bodegas and galleries along the stretch of 24th Street that runs east of Mission Street. Why not stop into La Palma for handmade tortillas or Modern Times for lefty political reading before you head home?

Bathroom Breaks--

There are no bathroom breaks during the walk. If you would like to use the single/unisex bathroom at Borderlands Cafe (our starting point), come early to line up AND to buy a beverage or treat to support this independent cafe. Other cafes and the Mission Branch Public Library offer clean bathroom options at our ending point.
