Chamber Music Day at the conservatory offers audiences, musicians, and local presenting organizations an unusual opportunity to gather at one venue in a casual atmosphere. A free and accessible event, Chamber Music Day showcases an eclectic array of Bay Area ensembles. Programs are presented in half-hour segments and are organized so that audience members are encouraged to move from stage to stage within the venue, enjoying a variety of musical styles and discovering unfamiliar repertoire, genres or ensembles.
The free performances are Saturday evening (8 pm to 11-ish) and Sunday 12-7. This year the focus is on Latin American Music. Marc Teicholz (http://www.sfcm.edu/faculty/teicholz.aspx) and Angela Lee will perform on Saturday at 8:40. The duo will perform pieces by Jobim, Sergio Assad and Villa-Lobos.
