Homage to Philip Rosheger

The San Francisco Classical Guitar Society, with the participation of Philip's family, will present an homage to Philip Rosheger, guitarist and composer, who died in December at the age of 63.

The evening’s program includes guitar music and memories shared by Philip’s friends, students and family members. The performers include Leon Atkinson, Esteban Bello, David Cronin & Jamie Fender-Cronin, Larry Ferrara, Tim Hall, Frank Jaffe, Dalton O'Sullivan, and Dan Winheld.

The seats at the church are wooden benches, so you may want to bring a pillow.

There is no admission fee to this event. However, donations will be accepted to support Philip’s family’s efforts to publish his written and recorded music.

Watch a video of Philip playing his Serenade in a recital we hosted a few years ago:

Philip will be remembered also for his generosity, and sincerity, and teaching, and storytelling, and diligence, and focus and amazing memory. I was fascinated by how everyone who spoke last night had a different angle, a different kind of connection. I want to thank everyone who was there for contributing by their presence to this beautiful farewell to Philip.

Thank you for making this event happen! Philip's wish was for his music to be played and heard, and through the magic of his music he will be remembered.
