There were five of us at the meeting... Only two are shown here... Oops. Anyway, the food and drink are good at Momi's!

Anita took excellent meeting notes. Here's a summary. 1. How many households do we want in our community? How much land will that require? Say two dozen households X 1000 sq. ft. (average) apiece + 3000-5000 sq. ft. of common house = 20,000 to 30,000 sq ft total, but this could be on several floors so a smaller footprint could suffice. 2. Where will the seed money (buy the land first?) come from? How much is needed? Lots of ideas -- kickstarter, crowdsourcing, commercial partners, timeshare rentals, etc. Ultimately (intones Dan) we'll each need to pay for our own home plus a share of the common. Harsh reality. How much? Figuring construction costs in SF at $500 per sq. ft. that's a half million dollars per unit, not including common space, up front developer/designer/permit costs, etc. So we each will need to find at least $300,000 up to a million dollars or more. We agreed that it makes sense to build a variety of unit sizes and amenities for a variety of people's buying powers. 3. Where will we put it? Each of us identified a site or two in SF that we will investigate and report back to the group. Lots of optimism. Good meeting! --Dan
