Contra Dance with Countercurrent [WA]; Yoyo Zhou calling!
Come dance to this amazing duo from Washington State this Saturday in San Francisco! Some of us were lucky enough to dance to their music all week at the Burning Man contra dance this year, and were amazed at their skill, diversity, energy, and good spirit. These two bring together immense talent and experience, with both graceful and powerful fiddling mixed with dynamic and inventive guitar playing. They mix newer styles seamlessly with traditional, and are always looking to bring new dimensions to their music. Mix in a wide array of looping and electronic effects, and they create a diverse full bodied sound few others can match. Yoyo Zhou, one of our local favorites, will be the caller. Known nationally al a skilled dance writer, he'll provide an interesting and diverse evening of dances for your pleasure, both fun for experienced dancers and accessible to newcomers. ---------------------------------------------------------------- WHERE: St. Paul's Presbyterian Church,[masked]rd Ave (corner of 43rd & Judah) in San Francisco.
