McLaren Park: Wednesday Night Loops

This is a recurring weekly group ride, alternating between Tuesday and Wednesday night every week.

Warmup down Valencia and San Jose, up Silver and Harvard into the Park, then to the water tower to start some trail loops.

Roughly 10-12 mile ride, with 3-4 miles of actual trails. The trails are all legal, and not technical, but flowy and fun.

Bring: helmet, good lights (that actually light up the trail), and a spare tube (correct for your wheels) at minimum. The trails are easy to moderate and not difficult during the day, but this is NOT a beginner ride given the lighting conditions and pace.

Usually we get a beer or two and something to eat at Bender's after the ride. They have bike parking inside and it's usually plentiful, but bring a lock if you can in case it's full.

Setting a limit of 10 riders, to make sure we can keep the group together for the entire ride. We'll ride at a brisk social pace, with no rider left behind.

First timers, please ride the group's rider responsibility and liability statement:

Hope to see you out there! This is the last chance to practice at McLaren before the race next weekend!

I just got home since I thought that we were not going to Benders anymore. I'll be there next time for sure.

Doh, sorry Juan. I still went to Bender's even though no one else could make it since i knew other people who were there after a different ride. Should have been more clear!

Is it too late to nominate McClaren since the fog has come back?

Thanks for the reply. I'll bring a full suspension if I can make it.

This is a great loop for cyclocross bikes, except for a couple short (optional) stair sections which you can ride in the smoothish dirt next to, but are super fun on a bike with suspension. I personally will most likely be doing it on an old rigid MTB, so right in between.

And most people bring either hardtail or full suspension MTBs.

I second Kao's question- mountain or cyclocross?
