Close The Gap

  • Aug 27, 2013 · 9:00 AM
  • Valencia Gardens

We rebranded ourselves. We mastered delivering our branding statement. But if we’ve been out of work for a while, how do we present that—as strengths and benefits—to the prospective employer?

Teri Hockett, our presenter this week, will talk about what we are experiencing when trying to get back into the workforce, and how to market the gap in employment as developing our skills.

Teri will also help us look at our brand in social networking:

•  What social media is saying about you

• How to develop your social brand to be in alignment with your career brand

• How to blog.

Join us this Tuesday.

NOTE: We will be taking a break on Sep 3, the day after the long Labor Day weekend. See you again on Sep 10.

Great presentation by Teri and her partner Dennis. Excellent tips on how to fill the work gaps and the list of questions to use on an interview. I'm glad I was there to receive the information.

While I enjoyed and appreciated the spin on utilizing volunteering skills in closing employment gaps, I personally took more away from the interviewing and follow up techniques Dennis touched on in the second half of the presentation. Overall an extremely helpful and fun session.

Very organized and timely. The focus of the meet up was not lost and the organizers did a good job of communicating the benefits of this group and what else they offer to members. I was impressed by the effectiveness of the group and this event overall. I look forward to attending additional events through this particular group.
