Cancelled- Master the Principles of Influence: Tips & Tricks for Being More Effective

Our speaker for this week's presentation was forced to cancel as a result of unavoidable circumstances

To take advantage of this open time we will present the SFPCN Speed Networking model tomorrow. It will be an opportunity to connect with your fellow SFPCN members and to uncover unexpected.

The mission of San Francisco Professional Career Network is for professionals to help professionals land that right job. Most weeks we carry out that mission by engaging inspiring speakers and by trading job search tips. This week will be different as we work internally and directly tackle improving a critical job search skill- networking.

Come join us for Speed Networking as the group shifts into top gear and we get to know both who is in the room and the potential contacts well beyond. "Mistakes" don't exist here, so bring your business cards and version(s) of your elevator pitch: you'll leave with a lot of indicators of how to improve your outreach and the size or shape of your network could very well change.

What you can expect:

  • A structured networking environment that facilitates finding people with shared interests, values or objectives.
  • The opportunity to identify possible success team partners whom you can support and be supported by during the job hunt.
  • Have fun in an appreciative, energetic environment as you learn more about your SFPCN cohorts- their experiences and what they love.

Join us to learn, practice, and have fun. This program will uplift and benefit everyone!

Program Schedule

The program will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will run 1.5 hours. Doors will open at 9:00 a.m. for you to begin networking and talking one-on-one with our speakers.

$1.00 donation requested.

Mass Transit / Parking

Please note that Valencia Gardens' parking is restricted to its residents. Parking within its lot by non-residents will result in your vehicle being towed at your own expense.

The 16th & Mission Street BART stop is two blocks from our location, while the Market & Church Street MUNI stop is four blocks away. Inexpensive parking can be found at the Hoff Street Garage, 42 Hoff Street, San Francisco.

This was great practice and experience! The group was small, but that meant we got to know each other more than if the group was larger. This should be a weekly event in itself.

Great exercise to practice networking and talking effectively about what it is that you want. I think that it is a workshop that should be held regularly (maybe once a quarter).

Despite the speaker change this session was plenty social: a team building event that strengthens SFPCN and gave us the basis for making more genuine network connections. Glad that this time through the workshop we left sharpening the valuable but much emphasized "Elevator Pitch" tool aside, setting our aim for a networking goal and taking a shot at it. Thank you all.
