IP and Entity Selection and Formation

Attorney Jason Putnam Gordon will provide an overview on entity selection and formation.  He will discuss importance of forming an entity to secure intellectual property and in order to raise the capital in order to maximize your business's chance of success.


Patent Primer

Attorney Mark Koo  will provide a brief overview of patents, trademarks, and copyrights.  In particular, he  will go through the legal protections provided by having a patent.  He will outline the key steps needed to file a patent application and also discuss some of the key details which a startup will need to be aware of when dealing with patents.  Finally, there will be a discussion of strategies to increase the value of patents.

Jason Putnam Gordon is a San Francisco-based corporate attorney.  His practice focuses on resolving the legal issues of startups and other businesses so that they can focus on growth. Typical matters that Jason handles include entity formation, financings, founders agreements, securities issuances, contracts, business sales, and civil litigation.  Jason received his J.D. magna cum laude from Villanova University School of Law and is admitted to practice in California, District of Columbia, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and his home state of Pennsylvania.  Outside of his legal practice, Jason is a competitive skydiver.
