Hi Everyone, Sorry I won't make it today. I'm under the weather and don't want to spread the cold. Have fun and I will see you next time.

Dean, I just checked out your file of "The Way You Look Tonight", and it won't display. It's labeled as "an image" (a jpeg, apparently), but it only shows up as a question mark.
But I noticed Nancy posted the song too as a pdf, which I can see. It's 3 pages, and in C. Is it the same as yours, or similar?

Does anyone know if a song called strange meadowlark is in one of the daily Ike books? It's by Dave Brubeck. I need the chords and preferably with musical notation. If not anyone know there I can find it? Need it for the performance and rehearsal class. I have the music but no chords.

I doubt if that song is in any ukulele book. Try SheetMusicPlus.com

I knocked 4 pages off the assigned pages. Try to practice the songs Ray suggested below instead.

I just uploaded both pages of "The Way You Look Tonight." Same as Nancy's previous post, but I moved things closer together so the whole song fits on only 2 pages instead of 3. I don't have editing ability to create a single 2-page PDF, so you'll need to download both files.

Hi, yay, meetup works again! I wasn't able to get on here at all for a while. I think two pages is best for this looking at it because it would be too small on one page. people can just put them side-by-side and I'm gonna make a bunch of copies and bring them!

This week included the birthdays of George Harrison (Feb. 25) and Johnny Cash (Feb. 26), so maybe in addition to playing movie-related music, we could play a George Harrison song and a Johnny Cash song. I don't have access to my Daily Ukulele books at the moment, so I don't know what, if any, of their songs are in the Leap Year Edition, but I might just post a song from each of them in the files section here.

MELODY, "Raindrops" is a great idea - Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid... DEAN - I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but i think people should start printing out their own copies - we all have computers and almost all of us have printers. I'm willing to print two copies but don't think that some of us should be subsidizing everybody else. There... I've said it...

Since it's Oscar day, we might want to do some of these past winners for Best Original Song which can be found among our Daily Uke selections:
Song. Page. Film year for Oscar
    All the Way p. 19 1957
    High Hopes p.142 1959
    Never on Sunday p.263 1960
    Born Free p. 48 1966
    I Just Called to Say
    I Love You p. 155 1984

Great idea! Have you ever seen the Gone Hollywood songbook? I love The Way You Look Tonight (it makes me cry).

I guess I uploaded it long ago. It's on page 5 in the files section if you want to check it out (it's 3 pages). Dorothy Fields said she had to leave the room because she was overcome with emotion when she heard the chorus Jerome Kern had written. She rhymes "warm" with "for me"…brilliant!

If you're not familiar with the song, here's a classic version by Rudy Vallee, 1934. Same key, C, as the charts I posted (though it modulates down to Bb for the girls' chorus).

March 2 is Oscar Night, so if I make it to Oakside I'll have to leave early to make it to my Oscar party. But in honor of the occasion I suggest we play "You Oughta Be in Pictures". You can download the two files I posted of the song, one of the introductory verse, and one of the chorus. (Posted on Nov. 20 & 24, so currently on page 2 of the files.)
