I'd call it a success. An even dozen would have been better, I'm thinking, but it was interesting. It's a good community and I will continue to attend and contribute. Needed access to strong coffee. Tea. The chocolate chip cookies were to die-for.

Get a comfortable space, bring in as many writers as you can, and you have available to you all sorts of painfully obtained insights - as well as advise, wisdom and encouragement - all there for the asking. I like to be around working writers. I recognize in them all the great, good, pretty good, and really poor traits I secretly harbor. I remember a guru who once said to me, "You know those secrets you have that if everyone knew them they would not like you? Well, buckwheat, everyone already knows."

I was really hoping to make this 1st of May event but I am unable to. I loved Judy-B's book "Stories for Airports;" read it last month & gave it a 5 star rating on the Goodreads site. Barney says hi!!!!

Thanks for your support, Amaroq! I felt your presence last night even though you were not present. Hi Barney!

I've written two screenplays over the years that I'm now adapting to novels. In other words, started and stalled. I want to get at it again. Anyone else taken on a similar task?

See you all on May 1.

Hi, Leo. Yes, I can relate. Two things help to put me back on track: Committing to a schedule for a limited amount of time (say, a month) and creating a writing group, even if that is just one other person with whom I can share and discuss work. I look forward to seeing you Thursday.
