What is Yin Yoga?
Yin yoga focuses on long holding positions to allow the synovial fluid to release in the joints, which creates more joint lubrication. Working with the meridians based in Chinese philosophy, yin yoga poses serve as a type of needle-less acupuncture, activating specific meridians associated with various organs and emotional qualities.

Amy is passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga she has experienced, and helping her students discover it for themselves. She has been practicing since 2004 and teaching since 2008 where she studied with her teacher, Swami Santhisprasad, at School of Santhi in India. Alongside her passion for yoga, she also holds a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Creative Expression. She offers a safe and healing space for individuals from all walks of life, and classes are taught with the intention of removing energetic blocks on the subconscious and conscious in efforts to have more fluid communication between one’s higher self and the day-to-day self, and to move into the direction of wholeness. What do I need to bring? Comfortable clothing, and open mind! Be prepared to do a little chanting (no singing talent required). This is a class for all levels. Modifications will be offered for those who need them. Please try not to eat anything one hour before class starts. No mat is necessary since they are provided for you free of charge. If you'd like your own mat, however, feel free to bring it.

I am allowed one guest per class. If you are needing financial assistance, please contact me to see if I have a guest spot available at least one day ahead of time, and I will put you on the list. This is only for students who have never been to my class.
