Liberate your mind and find your voice by acting with us!
"Mysterious bathrooms always have peanuts."
Starting in San Jose, meeting weekly on Saturday Evening, we warm up with simple vocal and diction exercises, then acting games, like Zip-Zap-Zop, word-at-a-time-story, and hitchhiker, depending on turnout.
The second part is an hour-and-a-half long and will consist of Whose Line is It Anyway? style improv games. Eventually trying to get to a fully-fledged Harold.
We won't do solo improv or audition pieces, and we don't do critiques. This is a place to collaborate, not to get feedback. There are plenty of other groups for feedback on your individual writing / acting / comedy performance.
Everybody is welcome!
Please remember to sign up if you think you'll come! It makes us able to plan good activities when we know the approximate group size.
The Ground Rules: - No prejudice or discrimination against any other member for who they are, in or outside of performance. Plain and simple. - No harassment, bullying, profanity, name calling, implied violence or abusive behavior directed at any other group member in or out of performance. - Nothing in or out of performance that may trigger PTSD - realistic / graphic depictions of violence, or human or animal cruelty. - Please don't come totally inebriated. - No solo performances: We want everybody participating as much as possible - No pressure to participate: You can just watch if you want. Just let us know you'll be sitting out this round. - No critiques - this is a space to explore.
