Understanding Cause and Effect: Transforming Your Mind & Life

Class 3: "Understanding Cause & Effect: Transforming Your Mind & Life"

Part of a New Series Reviewing the Essence of Namnang Mingjo Dorje Rinpoche's

"21 Classes on the Essential Points to Cultivating the Buddhist Path"

Wed, August 21st @ 7 pm - 9 pm

"Through our training, we have to train ourselves so that if you observe the poison of lust or desire coming, you know that is a dangerous sign and you are going to stop it. Or, if you feel hatred or irritation coming, you will be able to see that it is dangerous and stop it. If you are able to do that, then you will no only stop those affliction's function on you, you will also be able to stop its function on you in the future. So, that is the cultivation of the Dharma, the practice of the Dharma."

 -Namnang Mingjo Dorje Rinpoche

Class 3: "Understanding Cause & Effect: Transforming Your Mind & Life"

Please join us as we discuss:

• How do we begin to contemplate about our life and understand the causes for why we experience happiness and suffering?

• How do we create karma? What are the causes of virtuous and non-virtuous karma? What are their effects in our lives?

• How can understanding your karma help you to transform your mind and your life?

"In our minds, we carry positive and also carry non-virtuous karma in our minds. So, when we study the Dharma we start o systematize those virtuous and non-virtuous karmas. So we gradually analyze that if it is bad karma/bad actin we take it out and if it is virtuous karma we try to increase it. Through the study of the Dharma we are able to know it and we will try to reduce the bad karma and eventually will be able to cease the bad karma and we try to increase the virtuous karma. The force or power of the virtue in your mind increases and the force or power of the non-virtue reduces then your mind will change, will transform."
