Revisiting Insights from the Eco-summit Conference
Our Eco-summit Conference for the San Marcos/Wimberley/Blanco River Valley on September 8th was the largest event ever held by The Discovery Center. Key people from Wimberley, San Marcos, and Texas State were there. The creativity from various sources was everywhere evident. We are sojourning from shallow, to deep, to fully engaged and regenerative ecology and the creation of a paradigm that transcends reductive science and constricted religion yet is deeply conscious in its nature and with spiritual implications. In our gathering this month, we will revisit some of the inspiring moments and insights from the conference with Dan Gauthier. Dan Gauthier is what some would describe as a Renaissance Man with an eclectic background that includes professional musician, restorer of player pianos, pipe organs and mechanical musical instruments, repairing musical wind instruments, designing variations on musical wind instruments, software developer, technology consultant, catamaran skipper, pilot, photographer, graphics designer, book publisher, web developer, and Earthtribe elder. These acquired skills and experience are now focused on working with people and organizations dedicated to shifting human consciousness and shaping a new civilization that has human earthlings living in collaboration and harmony with our Mother Gaia.

    What we're about

The Engaged Ecology Gatherings seek to create a space for those who wish to reflect on humanity's present predicament and contemplate its future. Through guest lectures and special events, we intend to create conscious community through the exploration of the evolution of the Western worldview and the forging of the modern self that have affected everything from contemporary religion and psychology to politics and the environment. We meet in the second Friday of the month at 6:00 pm. All are welcome!
