Part of the Channel Islands National Park, Santa Rosa Island (www.nps.gov/chis/planyourvisit/santa-rosa-island.htm) is a little known treasure off the California coast. As the second largest island in Channel Islands National Park, Santa Rosa offers spectacular hiking opportunities. The hike to Water Canyon campground is only about 1.5 miles from the landing. We will base camp there for two nights and venture out on day hikes from camp. This is not a trip for beginners due to the remote location and unpredictable weather conditions.
