Ted's 3 mile run (5K), on the Prado.

This 3 mile run is a great way to start the weekend. (There is also a 2 mile version of the course.)  3 miles is a perfect distance for beginners.  3 miles is also great distiance for intermediate, and elite runners.  Runner's World Magazine' s philosophy is that shorter runs, at a fast pace, improves half marathon- and marathon times (faster splits)!  This is a scenic run through historic Balboa Park. This is your tour of Balboa Park, on the run! We run past many of the park's attractions. We may choose to do a core workout after the run. We will meet in front of the Hall of Champions. ( I think that it is safer to have a lighted parking lot next to the meetup area.) To get to the Hall of Champions, take Park Blvd. and turn on to Presidents' Way. The Hall of Champions is located at the corner of Presidents' Way and Pan American Road.

I was very late, but the group is strong and dedicated to the art of the run!

Well, I guess I got a little carried away powering up my pace. But, aside from my performance, I give total kudos to James in running from his home in City Heights to Balboa Park to be here and sticking around to watch us. He knew he couldn't make it in time to join us, but against doctor's order he keeps running. Also, great job everyone. The course really isn't well lit. I'm pleased that you all got through all the turns and loops and none of you got lost. Have a great weekend. See you next week!
