Join Brian S. Kirbis for a special small group tasting session, which will feature a fine selection of raw, cooked, young and aged pu’ers. Experience the brewing techniques appropriate to evoking the subtle characteristics of each type. Conversation will cover tea garden ecology, production methods, brewing and tasting parameters, and storage conditions. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to learn about pu’er, the least understood and most highly regarded of tea varietals!
Brian S. Kirbis has conducted research on pu’er tea in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province since 2006. Examining tea through the discipline of anthropology, he strives to understand the intertwined ecological, cultural, and spiritual landscapes of pu’er. He has strong ties with tea-producing villages, the manufacturing sector, connoisseurs, and the academic community and lectures on tea in the U.S. and in China. Brian is committed to chadao as a form of embodied practice and greatly enjoys sharing his experience with the tea community.
