Wine tastings from WESTERLY wines:

2010 Westerly Fletcher's Red: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 23% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc. Structured and balanced, the 2010 Fletcher’s Red is a beautiful example of why the Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara AVA is quickly becoming recognized as the perfect place to grow Bordeaux grape varieties. (usual retail $75)

2011 Westerly Cote Blonde: 95% Syrah, 5% Viognier. The Viognier adds a subtle white flower component to the exotic aromatics, while the palate is soft, juicy, and pure Syrah in nature. Dark fruits shine through, with a touch of liquorice and spice rounding out the bright and balanced mouthfeel. (usual retail $50)

2010 Westerly Cabernet Sauvignon: 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot. Classically styled, with currant, plum, cassis and graphite notes on the palate. (usual retail $60)

2012 Westerly Fletcher's White: 92% Sauvignon Blanc, 8% Viognier. Sourced from 15 year-old vines that were farmed at very low yields, the Sauvignon Blanc component for the 2012 Fletcher’s White was harvested by hand in early September. Aromatics of white flowers, honeysuckle, and lemon zest. The mouthfeel is highlighted by bright acidity and balanced, delicate notes of grapefruit and lemongrass. (usual retail $40)

Wine tastings from REFUGIO RANCH winery:

2010 Refugio Ranch Barbareno: 74% Syrah, 26% Petit Sirah. The aromatics and palate presence work in beautiful harmony offering pretty notes of lavender and violet, black cherry, blackcurrant, and fresh blueberries, accompanied by more savory elements of olive tapenade, peppercorn steak, smoke, and leather. (usual retail $38)

2011 Refugio Ranch Escondrijo: 58% Syrah, 33% Grenache, 9% Petit Sirah. On the palate the fresh acidity suggests candied orange peel and compliments the intriguing flavors and volume of the wine without feeling weighty. (usual retail $ 32)

2011 Refugio Ranch Ineseno: 97% Roussane, 43% Viognier. The Ineseno is an opulent wine in style with plenty of citrus oil, marmalade, apricot, and nectarine, yet offering subtle nuances of spicy clove, anise, and nutmeg with herbs, wild sage, and dry-cured ham. (usual retail $24)
