Manzanita Trail to Los Pinetos
This is a STEEP climb all the way up Manzanita Trail to 3N17. You’ll traverse 3N17 to the Wildland Firefighting Station at Bear Divide where we’ll stop for snacks and a look at the great views, then head down Los Pinetos to Walker Ranch Campground where we’ll have lunch before continuing on the Canyon Trail back to Placerita Nature Center. 1500 ft gain, 8+ miles. This is a tough hike! Not recommended for beginners, but for anyone who can complete a moderate hike, it is doable!
Bring lots of water, snacks, lunch, camera, sticks are helpful. Be sure to wear good boots with lots of traction.
Meet at 8:00, depart at 8:15
Directions to the trail head: From the I-5, go north on SR-14. Exit Placerita Canyon Road. Turn right. Go approximately 2 miles. You will see a sign that says, “Placerita Natural area”. Turn right into this driveway. Park close to the building. Walk to the building and meet the group near the steps. Look for the American Flag to find your leader!
