• What we'll do
Synopsis: Climb Eagle Peak(2369 ft) from the wild north side and return via Donner and Back canyons on a moderately paced but strenuous loop. Be prepared for cold winds, mud, and poison oak. Return to cars approximately 5:30pm. Optional dinner stop after hike.
If you wish to hike fast and get back early, this is not the hike for you. Mellow hikers welcomed.

Meet: 9:30am at the Mitchell Canyon staging area in Mt Diablo State Park (96 Mitchell Canyon Rd Clayton, Ca)
Directions: Take Hwy 680 North and exit on Ygnacio Valley Rd. Turn right on Ygnacio Valley Rd. and continue 8 mi to Pine Hollow Rd. Go right on Pine Hollow approx 1 mi to Mitchell Canyon Rd. Go right on Mitchell Canyon to park entrance.
Cancellation: Any rain cancels.
• What to bring
lunch, liquids (the equivalent of 2 liters of water), and warm clothing. Park rules prohibit alcoholic beverages. There are no potable water sources on the route. Recommend well-fitting boots for traction and ankle support. There are some steep slippery down-hills.

Cost: $6 parking fee.
Carpools: I recommend you arrange your own carpools where it is more convenient for you.
