We're excited to announce the next Meetup of our Santa Cruz Video Community will be on Monday, October 19th from 7-9pm at Community TV in Downtown Santa Cruz. “Created in Santa Cruz” will be moderated by Tam Communications’ Producer, Regan Eymann. The panel will be speaking about their television work and how they’ve been able to produce for cable and broadcast television, while living right here in Santa Cruz.

Join us to network with like-minded professionals in the area, and say goodbye to the old CTV and learn about the new facility and co-working space set to open later this year.

Meet the panel:

John Barrett is a freelance producer/editor who has been working in television, film and video production since 1995. His earliest work included work on the syndicated series Coast Guard and documentaries for Discovery Channel. Over the last 11 years, he has collaborated with David Hoffman of Varied Directions, International. Their greatest accomplishment was the feature documentary Sputnik Mania. It was released theatrically in May of 2008. He was also the online/show editor for FLW Outdoors on the Fox Sports Network. His most recent work is as editor on GRID TV.

Ethan Black has been Producing/Directing since 1996. “A Perfect Crime,” one of his first films that he wrote, directed, and produced, went on to win numerous awards. Ethan has produced commercials for BBDO, Univision, Telemundo, and FOX Sports. A graduate of NYU, Ethan has also worked for Sony and Warner Brothers. In 2015, Ethan’s first reality show, “American Fire Fighters,” was picked up by a major cable network. He is now the Executive Producer for Cruz TV.

Romney Dunbar, Owner of Dunbar Productions, spent 20 years in professional broadcasting as a reporter and anchorman at respected stations such as KION, KCBA, KSBW, and Clear Channel. Today his company boasts multiple television series including Travels with Romney and Great Homes TV along with web series on montereyvisitor.tv and santacruzvisitor.tv. His newest venture, 100 Mile Meals, is now airing on 40 PBS stations in 19 states.

Tam and Susan O’Connor Fraser are co-founders of Tam Communications. Together this prolific writing and producing team have created and developed programming for Discovery Channel, Travel Channel, Discovery Health, the Military Channel, and PBS. Their syndicated reality series Coast Guard ran for three seasons from 1995 to 1998 and still airs internationally under the title Sea Rescue. They were commissioned by PAX TV to write the pilot script for a blue-sky, action adventure series Surf Watch: Huntington. Their most recent project for national television was a two-episode pilot for National Geographic Television on the comedy reality series Family Beef. In 2015, their television special #BoardwalkLove was syndicated throughout Northern California and Nevada.

About the moderator:

Regan Eymann has been part of the Tam Communications team practically her whole life. Her first production credit was Technical Advisor for Lifeguard Rescues, which aired on Discovery Health in 2002. Since then she was producer on Coast Guard at War for the Military Channel, producer for 100 Years, Millions of Memories, which aired on PBS special and was a DVD release. She was co-executive producer on the company’s two-episode pilot Family Beef for National Geographic Television and has also produced the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk’s summer television special since 2007.
