What we're about
Santa Cruz Web Developers is an informal group of web designers, developers, appreciators and visionaries. Started in July 2008, the group is dedicated to the notion that we each have a unique angle and therefore something valuable to offer in this vast, ever-changing digital field.
We take turns presenting topics of interest and value to the group, and occasionally bring in guest speakers to share their expertise. Topics range from color and design theory to xampp installation, debugging pages for Internet Explorer, search engine optimization, and everything in-between.
Santa Cruz Web Developers is open to web students and professionals alike. We only ask that you respect the presenters, the space and the supportive atmosphere that we have created, and that you contribute to this good thing that we have going!
Presentations are scheduled for the second Saturday of each month, from 10am-noon. We have been known to meet occasionally for an informal Coffee & Code at a local cafe.
Turn off cell phone before start of meeting.
If you are late, be respectful by quietly finding a place to sit without disturbing the presentation. Sneak out quietly if you must leave early.
Keep questions on topic.
Remember that most of our presenters are not professional speakers. Please show them due respect and try to not throw them off with distracting off-topic comments, side conversations, etc.
At this time there are no dues, but we occasionally pass the hat to pay for domain renewal, etc. If you are interested in sponsoring our group, please contact our Organizer (http://www.meetup.com/Santa-Cruz-Web-Developers/members/10989590/).
