In this event writers, actors, and producers learn how to create podcasts, how to make them available on iTunes and other podcast platforms, and how to use them to generate revenue through accepting sponsorship, advertisements, or using them to promote other products the creator or creators sell. We also discuss how and why some studios are funding podcast production and why some big players are optioning and buying podcasts for production as films and TV shows. We’ll address how to find out what’s hot and what’s not, and how to promote a podcast cost effectively.
Novel writers, screenwriters, actors and producers need a way to help audiences to find out about the kind of work they do. Most of us didn’t pay for our first Stephen King novel. We got it free from a friend. We became familiar with his work, and then we began buying every book he wrote. Most people watched Aaron Sorkin’s A Few Good Men free on Netflix or paid a few bucks for it on iTunes. But now many of us try to go to a new movie he’s written on the night it opens.
Podcasts give writers, actors, and producers a way to build their audience. And creating podcasts costs very little when compared to the time and effort required to write and publish books, produce plays, or produce films. A podcast with thousands of avid followers is a great place for writers, actors, and producers to promote the work they want people to buy.
Podcasts are a good investment of time and resources when approached correctly, and this workshop covers what you need to know.
