For all those who love spiritual poetry of any kind -- Rumi, Neruda, Hafez, Rilke, Mary Oliver, Alice Walker, Dogen or Ryokan, Thomas Merton, Mirabai, Thich Nhat Hanh, Hildegard of Bingen -- whoever inspires you, takes you to a transcendent space, fills you with a sense of the beyond or infinite beauty that can't be contained. Bring your books or choose a poem or wisdom quote from the books we have on hand, and let's read them and share what the poems or spiritual quotations mean to us.
We will be meeting online Saturday February 20th from 4:00-6:00pm to read and discuss spiritual poetry and wisdom quotes. We share thoughts, feelings and insights inspired by the readings. About 15 people attend from several groups - we'd love to hear from you what poem or quote is meaningful to you - Do you love Rumi, Rilke, Joy Harjo, Hafiz, Mary Oliver, Alice Walker, Ryokan or Dogen, Thomas Merton, Mirabai, Pablo Neruda, Hildegard of Bingen, Wendell Berry, Nâzım Hikmet, Thich Nhat Hanh or...? Every meetup is different, depending on what you choose to read and discuss. Let's learn from each other as we share these invitations to what is higher and deeper.
To join online, please see the zoom link below. We draw strength, support, and inspiration from poetry and wisdom traditions. All paths and views are welcome -- this is an open and welcoming space where we get to know others who share a love for spiritual poetry and wisdom quotes, and for that which connects us with a deeper life, regardless of spiritual path or personal history. Gathering in this way allows us to communicate on a profound level.
If you would like to read a poem or quote, please have your book, phone source, or copy on hand. The organizer will also have poems on hand.
