This trail steadily climbs from the Los Leones Day Use Trail to the East Topanga Fire Road. The upgrade is consistent and moderately shady. Spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, only a few miles away. Trail weaves through lush vegetation then into chaparral. End of the trail is a clearing with a bench that looks down to the Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica.
LENGTH OF HIKE: 2.6 mi out and back. 1+ mi moderate upgrade.
ELEVATION: 800 ft.
NOTE: Dogs only allowed on Los Leones Day Use Trail. After that dogs are prohibited. Rattlesnakes, poison oak, or ticks occasionally.
DIRECTIONS: From the PCH (going east), take Sunset Boulevard 0.3 miles and turn left onto Los Liones Drive. There are two staging areas, both on the right side of the road, along with multiple trailheads to the east. Fire Station 23 is on the corner of Sunset & Los Liones Dr. There are several parking areas closer to Sunset Blvd, which have a short trail connecting them to the Los Liones Trail. NOTE: The turn onto Los Liones comes up quickly and it is not a major intersection.
