Come on out with your compass and enjoy some fresh air! This is an event sponsored by Florida Orienteering, a group that organizes events to make map and compass skills fun! The club issues maps for the course, with objectives along the way for you to find and record.

This is not officially our event and there will be others participating, but we strongly encourage anyone who wants to learn how to find your way around the great outdoors to attend. On their website, you'll see other nearby events coming up in January and February.
There is a $9 fee for participants who are not a member of Florida Orienteering. The event fee is reduced to $6 if you join the club ($10 per year). Registration is from 10am til noon, with trekking beginning any time after 10am and ending by 3pm at the latest.
Also note there is the usual state park entrance fee of $5 per individual or $6 per carload.
There are courses at this event for Beginner through Advanced, so you can pick the one best for you. Remember your compass, bug spray, sunscreen, water, good walking shoes or boots, and appropriate clothing for the weather.
